COURT GIVES 26-YEAR TERM TO MURDERER.

A North Hollywood woman convicted of murdering her live-in companion was sentenced Friday to 26 years in state prison.

Schwartz, however, sentenced her to 25 years for the murder and one year for the use of a gun.

Deputy District Attorney Ernie Norris said there was no question of Renteria's involvement in the execution-style slaying of Arellanes. The North Hollywood resident was Renteria's companion for 17 years. Prosecutors said Renteria drove Arellanes to an abandoned area of Burbank, near North Hollywood, and told him he was invited to a New Year's Eve party.

When they arrived, Antonio Espinoza Ulloa, Renteria's boyfriend, and Martin Espino, Renteria's son, were waiting to kill Arellanes, prosecutors said. The trio chased Arellanes and fired at least 20 shots.

Ulloa then allegedly cornered Arellanes in a driveway in the 1400 block of Clybourne Avenue and shot him in the head, Burbank police have said.

Norris said the killing was planned for just after midnight so the New Year's noise would mask the gunfire.

A warrant was issued for Ulloa, a Mexican Mexican
