PALMDALE Palmdale, city (1990 pop. 68,842), Los Angeles co., S Calif., in the irrigated Antelope Valley; a growing residential suburb of Los Angeles near Little Rock Creek where it forms Lake Palmdale Reservoir, inc. 1962.  - Registration has begun for several city-sponsored classes aimed at improving parenting skills.

The Families in Action courses will be held in Palmdale. Parents can call (661) 267-5665 to register or obtain more information.

``Cooperative Parenting and Divorce'' will be taught Tuesday Tuesday: see week.  nights from 6:30 to 9 p.m. through Feb. 22. The course is designed to assist divorcing or divorced parents in reducing parental conflict and risk factors associated with a child's post-divorce adjustment.

``Parenting Skills for Parents with Strong-Willed Adj. 1. strong-willed - having a determined will
strong-minded

obstinate, stubborn, unregenerate - tenaciously unwilling or marked by tenacious unwillingness to yield

``Becoming a Love and Logic Parent'' will be taught Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 11 through Feb. 22. The course offers an approach to discipline that places the adult in control while placing the child in a thinking mode.

``Strengthening Stepfamilies'' will be taught Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 through Feb. 23. The course is designed to tackle the traumas and opportunities of the fluid family structure including the remolding, reshaping and repopulating of family units through divorce and remarriage Re`mar´riage

``1, 2, 3, 4 Parents!'' is a three-week class for parents with children under age 4 and will meet Wednesdays from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Jan. 26 through Feb. 9. This course is designed for the new parent to learn basic developmental stages and ages, nonviolent discipline skills, and building a bond with their child.

``A Teen Guide to Choosing Success, Choosing Life'' will be taught Thursdays from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 10 through March 10 (the first meeting will end at 9:30 p.m.). Teens will learn to analyze an·a·lyze
