Lampton could not be reached for comment. At the suggestion of the county, the seven-member council held a mediation session Dec. 3 in which members agreed to accept Sullivan. That agreement fell apart the next day when Lampton changed her mind because Town Council candidate Howard Carlip was left out of the proceedings. Some council members had tapped Carlip to replace Sullivan after questions arose about Sullivan's candidacy. ``This agreement was rescinded by myself, in writing, the next day and the agreement was voided void·ed adj. Sullivan said it is not the first time Lampton has acted independently of the council. ``What I would like to see happen is for her to stop writing letters,'' Sullivan said. ``All it does is cause conflict.''
