COUNTY OFFICIALS LOOK FOR VICTIM'S KIN IN A.V. ROAD DEATH WOMAN STRUCK ON SIERRA HIGHWAY IDENTIFIED THROUGH FINGERPRINT ANALYSIS.

LANCASTER - Coroner and sheriff's officials have identified a 34- year-old woman killed as she was walking across Sierra Highway Sierra Highway is a road in Southern California, United States. It runs from Tunnel Station near the north limit of the City of Los Angeles, where it intersects with San Fernando Road and Foothill Boulevard, as well as Interstate 5, and continues north to Mojave, mostly paralleling  on Tuesday night but can't locate any relatives.

The woman, whose name was not made public, was identified by fingerprint analysis through the California Department of Justice's fingerprint system, but no other information was learned about her.

The fingerprint match led investigators to hospital records that listed the woman's husband and mother. When investigators went to the address listed for the husband, a new family was living there and there was no forwarding address forwarding address forward nadresse f de réexpédition .

Investigators then searched for the mother but learned she had died several months ago.

The woman was struck about 11:37 p.m. Tuesday on Sierra Highway just north of Avenue L. Motorist Rolanda Simon, 31, of Palmdale was driving north on Sierra Highway when the pedestrian ``walked or ran into the roadway,'' a coroner's report said.

Simon swerved but could not avoid hitting the woman, deputies said.

Simon was not hurt.

Investigators say the collision was the fault of the pedestrian so no citations were issued against Simon.

Because the next of kin was not located, officials said they could describe the woman only as a white 34-year-old female with a birth date of May 16, 1968.
