``There were several features that were postponed into next year and midseason replacement In North American Television a midseason replacement is a television show that premieres in the second half of a television season usually between January and April. Midseason replacements usually take place after a show that was in the fall schedule was canceled or put on hiatus.  TV shoots started later than usual,'' Cluff said of November. ``We're seeing high activity this month and January should be very strong. We'll probably see about a 5 percent gain next year.''

The county's production levels outside studio lots have soared in recent years, spurred by strong demand and a streamlined permitting process. Activity jumped 27 percent in 1995, 29 percent last year and 9.3 percent for the first 11 months of this year. Even without December, this year's total of 44,150 days has topped last year's total by 168 days.

Cluff said the impact of El Nino has been minimal so far, with most producers able to switch to shooting on alternate indoor sets during rainy days Rainy Days itself isn't an official XYZ release, it's a collection of demo tapes from 1985 which has been released by guitarist Bobby Pieper, who recorded the said demos with the band. .
