COUNTY ESCAPES DAMAGE FROM STRONG GUSTY WINDS.

Weather forecasters expected the high winds to continue through this morning.

Lying mostly in Nevada and extending into California, Oregon, Idaho, and Utah, it is bordered by the Sierra Nevada on the west, the  area,'' Seto said, referring to the area near northern Nevada and Utah. ``This was a pretty weak to moderate one.''

Air then moves toward a low-pressure system near the California coast and creates the familiar Santa Ana condition, he said.

Nice weather results when the systems move on.

``Usually the day after is the warmest,'' Seto said.

Temperatures in the east county should hit the mid-70s range today, and just a few degrees cooler Wednesday, he said.
