COUNTY DECLARES E-VOTING RESULTS ACCURATE.

``I'm so impressed with how well things are set up to work, the care taken with the cards, the surveillance. But here's what doesn't work there, and I have a big problem with this,'' Troy said. ``The secrecy aspect. Nobody was allowed into that tabulation room at all.''

McCormack did note some election glitches, including printers that jammed and new InkaVote Plus ballot readers that malfunctioned.

The county recently spent $25 million to buy the new equipment, which includes a ballot reader that alerts voters if they made inadvertent errors.

``We received a number of complaints that people said the machines didn't work, either from poll workers or citizens,'' Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky Zev Yaroslavsky (born December 21, 1948) is a Los Angeles County politician. He served on the Los Angeles City Council from 1975 until 1994, when he was elected to the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. He was preceded in both offices by Edmund D. Edelman.  said.

McCormack said she plans to issue a full report in January on the ballot readers. She also is surveying all 5,208 precinct A constable's or police district. A small geographical unit of government. The only race the final vote changed involved the Alhambra City Council, Registrar-Recorder spokeswoman Marcia Ventura said.

Election night results showed Carlos Chavez had 5,163 votes compared with 5,130 for Stephen Sham. But final results showed Sham won, 5,931-5,841, Ventura said.
