COUNTY CONCERT PLANNED : SHOW TO RAISE FUNDS FOR AGUA DULCE PARK.

Country music fans can enjoy Riders in the Sky and other entertainers this Sunday at a benefit concert for Vasquez Rocks Vasquez Rocks Natural Area Park is a 905 acre (3 km²) northern Los Angeles County, California USA park acquired by LA County government in the 1970s. It is in the Agua Dulce vicinity between the Antelope Valley and the Santa Clarita Valley just north of Los Angeles and seen easily  County Park.

The cowboy trio will join The Mountain Standard Time Bluegrass bluegrass, any species of the large and widely distributed genus Poa, chiefly range and pasture grasses of economic importance in temperate and cool regions. In general, bluegrasses are perennial with fine-leaved foliage that is bluish green in some species.  Band and trick-roper Montie Montana from 2 to 6 p.m. at the park's main picnic area. Tickets are $20 and children 15 and younger are free.

Proceeds from the concert will benefit the Vasquez Rocks Nature Center Associates (VRNCA), a nonprofit organization Nonprofit Organization

An association that is given tax-free status. Donations to a non-profit organization are often tax deductible as well.

``We would like to grow,'' said Tari Cook, the group's corresponding secretary. ``There's more we can do and members of VRNCA want to become docents so we can do more in the park.''

``This one is designed to kick off two concerts a year,'' Brewer said. ``This is the door-opener that will attract a following of people every year.''

On Sunday, concertgoers can enjoy two 50-minute shows by Riders in the Sky, an award-winning group whose latest album, ``Always Drink Upstream from the Herd Always Drink Upstream from the Herd is a studio recording released by the Western band Riders in the Sky on October 31 1995. It is available as a single CD.

``We chose them because they represent what we would like the nature center to represent,'' Cook said. ``It's family oriented. They have old cowboy songs that identify with this area.''

The event also will showcase a trick-roping demonstration by Montana, who lassoed President Dwight D. Eisenhower during his 1953 inaugural ceremony, and additional music by The Mountain Standard Time Bluegrass Band.

Concertgoers also can examine park artifacts, including arrowheads and sets of mortars and pestles used by local American Indians.

Visitors are advised to bring their own food, blankets and chairs. Organizers will sell water, soda and snacks and provide tents for shade. Parking is limited and motorists should car pool, Cook said.

Gates will open at 1 p.m. and the program starts an hour later. Tickets may be purchased in advance at the Agua Dulce Hardware Store, 33314 Agua Dulce Canyon Road. Parking costs $3. For more information, call Tari Cook at (805) 268-0519.
