COUNTY APPROVES NEW MOVIE RANCH.

SAUGUS - The Board of Supervisors on Tuesday unanimously approved the Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. At a zoning change hearing last month, residents who live near the 93-acre ranch at 29950 Blue Cloud Road told supervisors they were concerned about their safety because road improvements Veluzat made could lead to flooding.

But Supervisor Michael D. Antonovich Michael Dennis Antonovich (born 1939 in Los Angeles, California) is a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors representing the Fifth District, which covers northern Los Angeles County, the Antelope, Santa Clarita, Pasadena, and parts of the San Fernando and San  said Tuesday that the county reached an agreement with Veluzat to widen and pave portions of Blue Cloud Road to avoid flooding problems.

``We have reached an agreement and all the issues have been resolved,'' Antonovich said.

Julie Moore, principal regional planning assistant, said the Department of Regional Planning held a meeting with Veluzat and his neighbors recently and reached an agreement to address neighbors' safety concerns.

``The county Fire Department indicated the road, when improved, will provide adequate all-weather access,'' Moore said.

The movie ranch will include a rustic farmhouse and barn, a new Spanish villa and a major Army base complete with 25 Jeeps, five Huey helicopters and a tank.

Newhall resident Veluzat, 59, started in the entertainment business in 1950 as a child actor on such television shows as ``Ozzie and Harriet Ozzie and Harriet

In the late 1950s, Veluzat began building movie sets with his family and managed the Veluzat Movie Ranch in Saugus for a quarter-century. Popular television shows such as ``The A-Team'' and ``Dukes of Hazzard'' were filmed there.

His brothers own Gene Autry's old Melody Ranch in Newhall. In 1995, Veluzat's father gave him a piece of property, which he turned into the 1950s-style ``Rene Town,'' the site of such productions as ``Clueless clue·less
