Anderson said the idea for the Country Western festival came from another event that draws thousands of people during the Memorial Day holiday - the Cajun Festival. Similar to Cajun Festival, the Country Western music bash will feature live music, lots of food and craft vendors to bring people outdoors in search of inexpensive family entertainment. Last May, Rotarians raised $50,000 during the Cajun Festival, which is donated to local charities, shelters, food banks and Rotary International. ``We saw the result with the Cajun Creole Festival which drew about 6,000 to 7,000,'' said Anderson. ``At the chili cook-off only so many people go - about 3,000 - so this (Country Western Festival) has greater potential. The more we could raise the more we could do.'' THE FACTS WHAT: Two-day Country Western Music Festival sponsored by the Rotary Club of Simi Sunrise.
