COUNTRY MUSIC'S HURRICANE KATRINA RELIEF: Nelson's Farm Aid rallying to help families; ROGER RYAN with the latest news from Nashville.

IN an effort to help ranchers devastated by Hurricane Katrina Editing of this page by unregistered or newly registered users is currently disabled due to vandalism. , Farm Aid is activating the Family Farm Disaster Fund.

The organisation is encouraging donations, so they can help farmers get their lives back together.

In a posting on its website, Farm Aid President Willie Nelson said: "This is a moment when each of us can take stock of what we can offer to everyone affected by this catastrophe, and Farm Aid is in a position to act for farm families."

Thirty-thousand-dollars has already been sent by the organisation to the area, and is being divided among the Federation of Southern Cooperatives and the Louisiana Interchurch Conference.

Nelson hopes to raise more money at the upcoming 20th Anniversary Farm Aid concert. It's set for September 18, in Tinley Park, Illinois Tinley Park is a village located primarily in Cook County, Illinois, United States with a small portion in Will County.
