COUNTRY DUO RIMES, WHITE TO HEADLINE AT A.V. FAIR.

Fair officials designated more than $100,000 of the fair's $384,000 grandstand entertainment budget for the Sept. 2 performance by the Gen X See generation X.  country duo, who are currently on tour.

``The duo act of LeAnn Rimes and Bryan White will be extremely well received,'' Ralph Bozigian, head of the fair's entertainment committee, said at Monday's announcement. ``Fairgoers told us what they liked and we're all extremely proud.''

Officials tried to have Rimes perform last year but were unable to, due to scheduling conflicts.

Tickets are $30 for floor seating, $25 for grandstand seating, and $20 for bleacher bleach·er

Fair officials also announced Monday that comedian Gallagher will perform Aug. 31. Tickets are $25 for floor seats, $20 for grandstand seats, and $15 for bleacher seats.

``We feel we have some tops acts lined up this year,'' said fair general manager Dan Jacobs. ``The entertainment committee worked long and hard on this.''

Previously announced acts for the Aug. 28-Sept. 7 fair include country performers Coolin Raye and Toby Keith on Aug. 28; Creedence Clearwater Revisited Creedence Clearwater Revisited is a band that was formed in 1995, by former Creedence Clearwater Revival bassist and drummer - Stu Cook and Doug Clifford, respectively. The band  and Eddie Money on Aug. 29; comedians Williams and Ree Bruce Williams and Terry Ree, often billed as "The Indian and the White Guy", are a pair of American comedians. Since the late 1960s, they have performed throughout the United States.  in two free shows Aug. 30, and Tex Beneke's big band in a free show Sept. 1.

Tickets are $25, $20 and $15 for the Raye/Keith show and the CCR/Money show.

All paid grandstand events will include general admission to the fair.

Fair officials tried to book adult contemporary band the Wallflowers, headed by Bob Dylan's son, Jakob, but gave up because a financial agreement could not be reached, Jacobs said.

Tickets will go on sale at the fairgrounds n. pl. 1. same as fairground.  from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Starting next week, the ticket office will be open 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Fridays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
