Up to 2,000 - including gypsies - could travel to Ireland by Christmas. SLOVAKIA: Unemployment levels of almost 20 per cent looks likely to force a big part of Slovenia's five million people to find work abroad. Around 10,000 mainly manual labourers are expected to flock to Ireland. CZECH REPUBLIC Czech Republic, Czech Česká Republika (2005 est. pop. 10,241,000), republic, 29,677 sq mi (78,864 sq km), central Europe. It is bordered by Slovakia on the east, Austria on the south, Germany on the west, and Poland on the north. There are a significant number of gypsies among the country's 10million population and many have Ireland as their first stop. The already-big Czech population here will swell by 3,000 by next year. SLOVENIA Slovenia Tiny Slovenia is the richest of the new countries with an average wage of more than EUR13,000 a year. With an unemployment rate similar to here, doctors and white collar workers are more likely to come. LATVIA Ireland has for 10 years been a favoured destination for thousands of Latvia's 2.3million people. With around 3,000 mainly manual workers living here already, this could grow by another 2,000 this year. LITHUANIA A country of 3.6million people with an average wage of EUR4,200 a year. Ten thousand will come straight to Ireland, with 3,000 already booked to fly in August from the rural town of Kaunas. CYPRUS With an average annual wage of more than EUR11,000 in a country populated by only 760,000 people, very few Cypriots will travel here after accession.
