One option calls for a southside expansion. One disadvantage, officials say, is the long distance a patron would have to walk from the main entry. The library has 125,000 registered borrowers and roughly 5,000 to 6,000 of the patrons live outside the city. The council will hold its meeting at 6 p.m. Tuesday at the library, 1401 E. Janss Road, to kick off a series of events celebrating the library's 20th anniversary.
