In the Sunland-Tujunga cleanup, nearly 150 volunteers removed about 210,000 pounds of debris and bulky items from the community, officials said. Authorities inspected areas where there had been illegal dumping in the past.

``With the help of the residents of the greater Sunland-Tujunga area, we are tackling neighborhood blight and stopping illegal dumping,'' said Councilwoman Wendy Greuel Wendy Greuel is President Pro Tempore of the Los Angeles City Council representing the 2nd District. Greuel was elected in 2002 to fill the remainder of the term of Councilman Joel Wachs. She was elected in her own right in 2003 and reelected in 2007. , who sponsored that effort.
