BRECHIN CITY ..1 STENHOUSEMUIR ..0 JOHN COUGHLIN slammed his toothless troops after Charlie King fired Brechin to victory.

The Stenny boss was furious and admitted his players handed City an easy win.

He said: "I'm disappointed with the manner of the defeat because we didn't put up much of a fight. We looked a jaded side."

Stenny had Brechin on the back foot early on but couldn't create a clear-cut chance.

Then City's Rory McAllister stung the palms of keeper Chris McCluskey.

Jim Duffy's side got their noses in front in 23 minutes when King volleyed high into the net.

Stenny were awarded a penalty just after the break when Barry Smith decked Craig Molloy but Scott Dalziel fired the kick at Craig Nelson.

Brechin boss Duffy said: "It was a battle and we showed a different side of our game."
