COUGAR WARNINGS POSTED ON GLENDALE PARK TRAILS.


New warning signs have been posted along popular hiking routes in Glendale to warn hikers they could be venturing into mountain lion mountain lion: see puma.  territory.

Nello Iacono, director of Parks, Recreation and Community Services, said mountains lions have not been seen in the parks this year, but park officials have seen evidence of what appears to be mountain lion activity and know that the big cats live in the mountains surrounding the city. Sightings was a paranormal-themed television program that was first broadcast as an hour special entitled "UFO Report: Sightings" in October 1991.

``This year in both the Scholl Canyon area and Brand Park, we've found deer carcasses, which are evidence of mountain lion activity,'' Iacono said. ``We felt it was appropriate to provide some educational information.''
