COTCO Reports Manufacturing, Technology Advances as High-Brightness LEDs Drive Widespread Adoption; Sales of One-Watt DORADO Evidence of Latest Trends.

HONG KONG -- COTCO International, a pioneer in the development and delivery of light emitting diode (LED) products for over 10 years, reported continued adoption of LEDs, evidenced by the success of its one-watt LED, the DORADO(TM). With the launch of the DORADO in 2004, COTCO also broke new ground with design advances that address heat dissipation, lifespan and compact packaging and was built to retrofit the SMT sodder process. High brightness LEDs, such as the DORADO, continue to gain adoption in several industries, including architecture, hand-held devices, gaming, and various lighting design applications.

COTCO will be exhibiting at this year's Lightfair International Trade Show in New York City April 12-14, in booth 266, at the Javits Convention Center where it will feature its latest products and applications.

Over the past year, COTCO LEDs have been installed in lighting systems around the world in a range of environments. In Asia, COTCO was appointed as one of the LED component providers for the interior lighting used in the new Sand's Casino Hotel in Macau, China. COTCO LEDs were also installed on the rooftop of Philips Lighting headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia and the largest outdoor LED screen in Hong Kong.

In the U.S., COTCO LEDs were installed in the Walt Disney El Capitan Theatre marquee in Los Angeles, the world's first three-sided LED theatre moniker, and the Main Street Bridge in Jacksonville, Fla., as part of the 2005 Super Bowl beautification and celebration effort. COTCO LEDs were also an integral part of the newly installed LED visual display in the new PETCO Park baseball field in San Diego, CA.

According to the latest report from Strategies Unlimited, the high brightness LED market is expected to double in value by 2009, reaching an estimated $7 billion. Last year, the high brightness LED market grew 37 percent and resulted in $3.7 billion in revenue to global manufacturers.

COTCO pointed to advances in manufacturing and technology as one of the drivers of this growth of LEDs. Manufacturing advances help make the LED more affordable for equipment manufacturers and architects. COTCO was recently awarded a significant quality assurance honor for its ability to manufacture LEDs with little or no defects.

The DORADO, which was approved for a patent and reached full production in mid-2004, represents COTCO's latest LED technology advance. It features an exposed pad design, which results in longer lifespan while minimizing over-heat issues commonly caused by high-power LEDs. The DORADO stands apart from other LEDs because it features a molded lens package design that offers unrivaled consistency and reliability, greatly decreasing vibration and shock failures.

In addition to further installations and design wins around the world, COTCO will be launching the Mini-DORADO(TM), a half-watt LED, this year.
