COST OF SCHOOL WORK INCREASES DISTRICTS EXPECTED TO OK ADDITIONAL FEES.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Its main population center is the city of Santa Clarita. The valley was part of the 48,612-acre (19,672. , in particular, depended on developers to help pay for new schools needed to house children who moved into their new neighborhoods.

In the Hart District, four campuses - two high school and two junior highs - are scheduled to be built in the next five years, relying on a mix of state allocations, local bond money and developer funding.

The elementary districts plans several more campuses to meet continuing demands of growth.
