CORRECTION/BTG and Excalibur Sign Federal Distribution Agreement for Excalibur Electronic Filing Software; BTG Becomes First Master Federal Distributor for Flagship Document Image Management Solution.

MCLEAN, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 1, 1996--Excalibur Technologies (NASDAQ:EXCA), the leading provider of software components and solutions for information retrieval, and BTG Incorporated (NASDAQ: BTGI), a leading systems integrator and value-added reseller to federal, state and local government organizations, today announced a partnership for BTG to market and sell Excalibur Electronic Filing Software (EFS) to the Federal Government.

This partnership, the largest product distribution agreement in Excalibur's history, designates BTG the master federal distributor for EFS.

EFS is a turnkey solution for document image management that enables users within workgroups, departments and across organizational intranets and the World Wide Web to store and retrieve documents and document images with the ease of an intuitive, "fileroom" interface, and the power of Excalibur's Adaptive Pattern Recognition Processing (APRP) search technology.

BTG will create a dedicated team to market and sell EFS, including providing strategic management and resources to Excalibur's extensive, existing Federal VAR (value-added reseller) channel. The two companies have identified the World Wide Web as a major opportunity for document management. BTG, already the exclusive Netscape Distributor to the Federal Government, will jointly distribute Netscape servers and browsers, and EFS WebFile, the World Wide Web-enabled version of EFS.

BTG, a major reseller of information technology products and services to the Federal Government, has been the largest Excalibur value-added reseller in this market since 1992. Recent wins include Wright Patterson Air Force Base and the International Trade Commission, where BTG installed litigation support systems designed around Excalibur EFS and BTG's TeraSEARCH document conversion technology.
