) has selected Unica Corporation's Affinium to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their on- and off-line marketing initiatives. iDine, one of the nation's leading providers of loyalty and rewards programs, will take advantage of Affinium's predictive modeling and segmentation capabilities to produce more targeted marketing campaigns that are more strategically implemented and expected to result in higher response rates. iDine also will use Affinium to track and measure campaign effectiveness for rapid learning and continual strategic improvement.

iDine engaged with Unica in 1Q03 and fast-tracked the installation of the system in order to design Affinium-generated campaigns. Because of the thorough training and orientation that has been provided by numerous Unica professionals, iDine is currently ahead of its implementation schedule and has several campaigns in various stages of development and implementation. These campaigns have been designed to optimize iDine's marketing strategies and to provide measurable results. Affinium is being used both on the front-end for campaign segmentation and on the back-end to analyze and measure results within the existing dining platform and across other new vertical areas of interest such as new markets, new partner opportunities and new reward categories including hotels.

Affinium will replace an older system that has become too restrictive and limiting in light of the company's significant expansion in member and merchant areas. Now, by taking advantage of Affinium's ease-of-use and rich functionality, iDine's marketing professionals will be able to increase the number of effective campaigns that they conduct via various channels, including email, direct mail, PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) A handheld computer for managing contacts, appointments and tasks. Affinium also will enable iDine to quickly identify and eliminate ineffective campaigns allowing the company to maximize its marketing dollars.

iDine will take advantage of Affinium's Universal Dynamic Interconnect(TM) (UDI (1) (Unified Display Interface) A digital interface from the United Display Interface SIG that is designed to replace the analog VGA interface common on CRTs and flat panel monitors. UDI is expected to provide backward compatibility with DVI and HDMI interfaces. ) technology to seamlessly connect to and interact with multiple data sources on various platforms as well as multiple member touchpoint systems, including the call center, sales force automation Automating the sales activities within an organization. A comprehensive SFA package provides such functions as contact management, note and information sharing, quick proposal and presentation generation, product configurators, calendars and to-do lists. , and the Web.
