Union Planters announced its definitive merger agreement with Regions in January. The merger is expected to be completed in the summer, pending customary regulatory approvals. The combined company, to be called Regions Financial Corporation, will be among the nation's Top 15 largest bank holding companies with more than $80 billion in assets.
