NYSERDA AWARDS AMBIENT AND CON EDISON FUNDING FOR ENHANCING PLC PILOT PROJECT

Consolidated Edison (NYSE:ED) and Ambient Corporation (OTCBB:ABTG) today announced the award of funding, pending final contract negotiations, from New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) to enhance their PLC pilot in Westchester County. Con Edison and Ambient's proposal was favorably reviewed by a technical evaluation panel and NYSERDA management.

NYSERDA will be funding up to $200,000, of the $480,000 project.

Con Edison and Ambient will implement the pilot using Ambient's technology that will enable Con Edison to monitor two overhead distribution circuits via Ambient's utility applications. Some of the benefits and enhanced monitoring capabilities provided by PLC will include:

-- Indication of general circuit health for improved asset

management

-- Information on power quality events on the monitored circuit

-- Enhanced outage management and response

-- Automatic Meter Reading (AMR)

-- Comprehensive, high-speed communications back bone that can

also be utilized to provide low cost Internet service
