The goal of the Sam Adams Light(R) Taste Challenge is to challenge ten thousand Bostonians in light beer taste-offs in bars throughout Boston, starting with one hundred bars on May 27th and continuing through the end of August. All beer drinkers will have the opportunity to donate, in the name of the Cam Neely Foundation For Cancer Care at least one dollar, and to perform blind beer taste tests of Sam Adams Light against other light beer contenders. All proceeds raised through these tasting events will be matched by Samuel Adams, and then presented to The Cam Neely Foundation For Cancer Care in August.

"It's a win-win for Bostonians -- they now have an opportunity to try a great-tasting light beer, while also giving back to the community by donating to a charitable cause," said Jim Koch. "Sam Adams Light is proud to team up with The Cam Neely Foundation For Cancer Care, which has made great strides in supporting families faced with cancer."

The kick-off for this fundraising event will take place at Boston Billiards billiards, any one of a number of games played with a tapered, leather-tipped stick called a cue and various numbers of balls on a rectangular, cloth-covered slate table with raised and cushioned edges. , around the corner from the ballpark, where Jim Koch and Cam Neely will jump behind the bar to pour the first consumer taste test. The Cam Neely Foundation for Cancer Care's mission is to provide comfort, support and hope to cancer patients and their families and was established in 1995 in memory of Marlene and Michael Neely who lost their battles with cancer. The Foundation has raised over $11 million since its inception.

The Neely House at Tufts-New England Medical Center Tufts-New England Medical Center (Tufts-NEMC) is a medical institution in Boston, Massachusetts.
