West Marine and 3M Take Home Top CPFR Implementation Honor

at Chicago Conference

For the fourth consecutive year JDA(R) Software Group Inc. (Nasdaq: JDAS) is proud to announce that its clients have won the VICS Collaborative Commerce Achievement Award for "Best in VICS CPFR(R) Implementation." During a ceremony on May 18 at the Retail Systems 2004 Conference in Chicago, the VICS committee named West Marine (Nasdaq: WMAR), the world's largest retailer of boating supplies with 2003 revenues of $660.9 million, and its trading partner, 3M (NYSE: MMM), as this year's winners.

Accepting the award on behalf of West Marine was Larry Smith, senior vice president, planning and replenishment. "The first comment that I made at the ceremony, after just saying 'Wow!' was to thank JDA for the enabling software without which this project would not have been possible. I also recognized the West Marine category management team for urging us to roll out rapidly to more than 200 suppliers and our executive team for believing that a replenishment forecast could be accurate. I also thanked our suppliers, especially 3M, for their willingness to make changes and investments to improve fulfillment and the in stock levels in stores for our customers," remarked Smith.

According to the award Web site, the Best in VICS CPFR(R) Implementation honor is presented to "two companies, a retailer and supplier, which have worked collaboratively to create true end-to-end supply chain integration and cooperation utilizing VICS CPFR." West Marine and 3M presented the following convincing quantifiable results to secure the win:

-- Reduced lost sales by 60%.

-- Improved on-time shipments from 45% to 85%.

-- Achieved 85% order forecast accuracy.

-- Reduced lead time by four days.

-- Increased average order value by 75%.
