CORRECTING CHECKER CAB ARTICLE.A March 17 article about insurance problems at Checker check·er n. 1. a. One, such as an inspector or examiner, that checks. b. One that receives items for temporary safekeeping or for shipment: a baggage checker. 2. Cabs contained a number of serious factual errors. The article stated that hundreds of Checker Cabs have been crisscrossing the city for six months without insurance. That statement is wrong. Checker Cabs was insured for that period. The article further stated incorrectly that there was an alleged scam (SCSI Configured AutoMatically) A subset of Plug and Play that allows SCSI IDs to be changed by software rather than by flipping switches or changing jumpers. Both the SCSI host adapter and peripheral must support SCAM. See SCSI. . Also, no claims by riders were affected since Checker was insured so no riders will be left scrambling for a resolution of their claims. Furthermore, efforts to reach Michael James prior to publication of the article were inadequate since only one message was left.
