 CORNING SIGNS $26 MILLION AGREEMENT WITH MCI
 FOR TELECOMMUNICATIONS SERVICES
 RYE BROOK, N.Y., July 30 /PRNewswire/ -- MCI Communications Corporation (NASDAQ: MCIC) announced today it has signed a $26 million agreement to provide Corning Incorporated with its primary telecommunications services through 1996.
 Under terms of the agreement, Corning will use MCI's Vnet, a virtual private network service, for outbound domestic and international voice traffic. In addition, MCI will carry Corning's domestic and international data traffic via MCI's Global Private Network Service. Corning will also use MCI 800 Service, MCI Vnet Calling Cards and MCI Network Management Services.
 Jonathan Crane, president of MCI's National Accounts, which serves the nation's largest businesses, said, "The services contracted by Corning are testimony to the competitiveness of MCI in the marketplace for sophisticated telecommunications services. Corning will be taking advantage of MCI's advanced global and domestic telecommunications network."
 MCI, with 1991 revenue of approximately $9.5 billion, is the nation's second largest long distance carrier. MCI offers residential and business customers an array of voice and data services made possible through a digital telecommunications network that spans the globe.
 Corning Incorporated, with annual sales of $3.2 billion, is an international corporation focused in four business segments: specialty materials, communications, laboratory services, and consumer products.
