final after referee John Bannon decided against upgrading the yellow card issued to the player against Tyrone.

Miskella appeared to swing a punch at Brian McGuigan in the course of Sunday's All-Ireland semifinal though Bannon, on the advice of one of his match officials, chose not to send the player off.

And the Longford whistler decided against changing the sanction upon viewing the video evidence, meaning Miskella is free to play.

Tyrone manager Mickey Harte stated yesterday before Bannon's decision became public that he would not like to see the player missing the biggest game of his career.

He said: "I would be disappointed if anybody were to miss the final because it is a big day and people do things sometimes that they wouldn't do if they had more time to think about it.

"It would be a pity if that cost him a place in the final and I would rather if he were able to play."
