) today announced changes to its management team.

Effective September 1, 1999, Laura A. Brege, Senior Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer will leave the Company to become a partner in a venture capital firm focused on seed and early stage software companies. Mrs. Brege has served as Chief Financial Officer for COR since 1992.

"Laura has played a key role on COR Therapeutics' management team. In addition, she has been responsible for building the Company's finance and administrative infrastructure necessary to support COR at our current size and complexity. We wish her every success in her new endeavors. We will miss her," said Vaughn M. Kailian, President and Chief Executive Officer of COR.

In addition, Todd J. Lorenz, M.D. was promoted to Vice President, Medical Affairs. He was previously Senior Director, Clinical Research.
