COPY THE UNCOPYABLE WITH KLEPTOMANIA.

Structu Rise has released Kleptomania 1.7, a Windows 98/95/NT4 utility that uses optical character recognition (OCR) technology to let you capture text from anywhere on the screen, including folder trees, file lists, database reports, messages, dialog boxes, menus, status lines and other text that may not be clipboard-aware.

Unlike ordinary copy or cut operations, Kleptomania lets you select text anywhere on the screen, including areas that you cannot highlight with your mouse, such as columns of data from a word processor or error messages from any Windows program. Kleptomania keeps track of all of your Windows fonts, and can interpret text from all areas of your screen. Kleptomania can place the captured text onto the clipboard as plain text or Rich Text Format (RTF).

You can copy and paste text into any editor or word processor, sum numbers in a column of copied data, count the number of words and characters that you've highlighted, and discover the name of the font that is on your screen. When you highlight an e-mail address, Kleptomania can start your e-mail editor and create an e-mail addressed to the highlighted address. When you highlight a URL, Kleptomania will launch your web browser and visit the site. It can even send the word or phrase that you have highlighted to your favorite Internet search engine, and begin a web search.

Kleptomania v. 1.7 costs $29.95 and may be purchased online at http://www.structurise.com/. Site licenses are available. You can download a fully-functional, 21-day trial version of Kleptomania from the same web site.
