COPAN Systems Chief Technology Officer to Participate at Information Lifecycle Management Solutions 2004.

The ILMI group within SNIA's Data Management Forum is a cooperative initiative of IT professionals, vendors, integrators, and service providers, formed as an authority and resource on data management infrastructure and information lifecycle management Information Lifecycle Management refers to a wide-ranging set of strategies for administering storage systems on computing devices. Specifically, four categories of storage strategies may be considered under the auspices of ILM.  in a storage context.

At the conference, the ILM Standards Requirements panel will present current work activities of the ILM TWG, followed by an audience discussion of requirements for ILM standards activities. The Email Archive and Compliance Best Practices panel, comprised of members of SNIA's Email Storage Regulatory Compliance Committee, will address long term retention and regulatory compliance requirements Compliance requirements are a series of directives established by United States Federal government agencies that summarize hundreds of Federal laws and regulations applicable to Federal assistance (also known as Federal aid or Federal funds).  for email storage, and discuss best practices with the audience.

"There is confusion in the industry relative to ILM and archiving. SNIA's Data Management Forum is the best forum to bring together the leaders in the industry to develop common understanding and solutions for the end users," said Dr. Guha. "And these panels offer a good opportunity for dialog and discussion towards that goal."
