COPAN Systems Chief Technology Officer to Participate at Information Lifecycle Management Solutions 2004.

LONGMONT, Colo. -- COPAN Systems Founder and Chief Technology Officer, Aloke Guha, will participate on the ILM Standards Requirements panel and moderate the Email Archive and Compliance Best Practices panel at SNIA's (Storage Networking Industry Association) ILM Solutions Conference on Tuesday, October 5, 2004.

SNIA's ILM Technical Working Group (TWG), co-chaired by Dr. Guha, focuses on defining technology for ILM interoperability in the future. Dr. Guha is also active in SNIA's ILM Initiative (ILMI), leading archive definitions and requirements. The ILMI group within SNIA's Data Management Forum is a cooperative initiative of IT professionals, vendors, integrators, and service providers, formed as an authority and resource on data management infrastructure and information lifecycle management in a storage context.

At the conference, the ILM Standards Requirements panel will present current work activities of the ILM TWG, followed by an audience discussion of requirements for ILM standards activities. The Email Archive and Compliance Best Practices panel, comprised of members of SNIA's Email Storage Regulatory Compliance Committee, will address long term retention and regulatory compliance requirements for email storage, and discuss best practices with the audience.
