 COORS UNVEILS MEMORIAL TO VETERANS
 GOLDEN, Colo., Sept. 9 /PRNewswire/ -- Acknowledging the nation's

debt to veterans, William K. Coors today dedicated a permanent memorial to the "Defenders of Freedom."
"I cannot begin to tell you how proud I am and how proud Adolph Coors Company is to have this monument right here," said William Coors, chairman and president of the company.
The permanent memorial, the only one of its kind in a corporate setting in the United States, was unveiled in a special ceremony attended by more than 250 military officials and Colorado dignitaries. Coors employees and executives also attended the hour-long celebration.
Peter H. Coors, chairman, president and chief executive officer of Coors Brewing Co. and civilian aide to the U.S. Secretary of the Army, said, "I have observed our military men and women perform their jobs with dedication and excellence. We can be proud of our military and take comfort in their shield that protects us.
"We owe them our greatness. We owe them our best," said Peter Coors, who also mentioned that the company "is proud to have so many veterans working for us."
More than 2,000 Coors employees are veterans.
The black granite and stainless steel memorial honors the five active duty branches of the military, the Reserve and National Guard components of the service, and all of the congressionally chartered military service organizations.
The memorial is in the shape of a five-sided star, with the first block featuring the statement, "Coors Salutes the Defenders of Freedom." Additional blocks honor individual branches of the military and crests circling the memorial honor the chartered organizations.
