COORS BREWING CO. HOSTS 19TH HOLE REIN OF FAME LUNCHEON HONORING COMMUNITY HEROES

OAKLAND, Calif., March 31 /PRNewswire/ -- The second 19th Hole Reign of Fame luncheon to honor unsung community heroes will be Monday at Oakland's Airport Hilton.
The luncheon, hosted by Coors Brewing Co. and the People's Pro-Am Celebrity Golf Tournament, will recognize Lionel Wilson, former Oakland mayor, and Dorothy Mullen of College Bounders, for contributing to the tournament's success.
"The 19th Hole Reign of Fame luncheon was initiated to acknowledge those who have been instrumental to the tournament's success and have shown dedication to the Oakland community," said Charles Peoples Sr., tournament director.
Oakland Mayor Elihu Harris will be the guest speaker, and Dennis Richmond of KTVU-TV will be the luncheon's master of ceremonies.
The Coors/People's Pro-Am Celebrity Golf Tournament will be April 30 through May 2 at the Alameda North and South and Lake Chabot golf courses in Alameda, Calif. and Oakland. The annual non-profit event, now in its 11th year, provides scholarships and financial assistance to junior golf programs.
The program assists minority students with financial resources to develop their talents. People's Pro-Am awarded $20,000 in college scholarships and $5,000 to support Bay Area Junior Golf programs from its 1992 golf tournament. Each year the tournament attracts celebrities and prominent athletes. Jim Thorpe, professional golfer; Richard Lawson and Stack Pierce, screen and soap opera stars; Joe Morgan, baseball Hall of Famer and Coors distributor; and Raymond Chester and Clem Daniels, football legends, will attend the 1993 event.
