COOPERS & LYBRAND TAX PROFESSIONALS AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW

COOPERS & LYBRAND TAX PROFESSIONALS AVAILABLE FOR INTERVIEW
Companies and individuals should rethink their year-end tax planning strategies in light of the Clinton presidency, according to tax professionals at Coopers & Lybrand.
In particular, families with annual incomes over $200,000, those with incomes over $1 million, and those subject to the alternative minimum tax might want to take steps in 1992 to avoid potential tax increases next year.
Businesses also face changes that may require them to rethink their year-end plans. Among Clinton's proposed tax hikes: limitation of tax deductions for top executives, elimination of tax breaks for "runaway plants," and increased enforcement on foreign multinationals. Proposed business tax incentives are likely to include targeted credits for domestic investment, making permanent the R&D and low-income housing credits, and targeted capital gains tax relief.
If members of the media would like more information on how the Clinton presidency will impact tax planning for 1992, Coopers & Lybrand's national tax professionals will be happy to speak with them. To reach them and to get an advance copy of Coopers & Lybrand's "Washington Perspective" newsletter that describes Clinton's proposals, call the contacts below.
