COOPERS & LYBRAND APPOINTS CARMINE GUERRO MANAGING PARTNER
FOR THE SAN FRANCISCO CLIENT SERVICE CLUSTER
NEW YORK, Oct. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- As part of the firm's new strategic direction, Coopers & Lybrand Chairman Eugene M. Freedman today announced the appointment of Carmine Guerro as managing partner for the San Francisco client service cluster.
Guerro, formerly managing partner of the San Francisco office, will now direct firm operations in offices in seven cities: San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, San Jose, Boise, Honolulu and Maui.
"Carmine will play a central role in achieving our goals. An outstanding client service partner, he exemplifies the type of individual who can build both our business and our people," said Freedman.
The firm's new strategy is designed to ensure high quality and efficient delivery of services, Freedman explained. "The cluster structure links Coopers & Lybrand offices, promoting a teamwork approach to serving our clients," said Freedman.
Guerro brings over 25 years of experience and a career-long dedication to client service to his new position. His long and diverse career at Coopers & Lybrand is comprised of hands-on experience in a wide variety of industries, including high technology, higher education, construction engineering, agriculture, mutual funds, public utilities and communications. He is a member of Coopers & Lybrand's Firm Council, the firm's governing body.
Active in his community, Guerro has been president of the Business Volunteers for the Arts/San Francisco, president of the International Visitors Center of the San Francisco Bay Area and a founding board member for INROADS/San Francisco, Inc. He is currently a member of the University of California-Berkeley Business School Professional Accounting Program advisory committee, the board of trustees of the Head-Royce School and co-chairman of the 1992 March of Dimes Bay Area WalkAmerica.
Guerro holds bachelor of arts and master of business administration degrees from Michigan State University.
In the recently announced new strategic direction, Freedman stressed that a strong client focus combined with an orientation to provide excellent client service at all levels will lead the firm into the next century.
Coopers & Lybrand's strategy for the future differentiates the firm from its competitors. In addition to 16 client service clusters, the strategy focuses on five core businesses (Business Assurance, Human Resource Consulting, Performance Improvement, Process Management and Tax) and six core competencies (Business Processes and Quantitative Analysis, Human Resource Development, International, Learning and Strategy, Relationship Management, and Technology).
