Fall weather swept into the San Fernando Valley San Fernando Valley

As the week progresses, temperatures may reach above normal when the wind shifts and pushes the marine layer off, Rockwell said, but no records are expected to be set.

Temperatures in the San Fernando Valley are expected in the low 80s today, climbing to the mid-80s Thursday and near 90s Friday, Rockwell said.

While cooler temperatures prevailed in July and August, the warmer, drier weather this fall is common, Rockwell said.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department (LACoFD), serves unincorporated parts of Los Angeles County, as well as 58 cities and towns that choose to have the county provide fire and EMS services, including the City of La
 at Zuma Beach, said hazy weather at Zuma Beach has been unusual at this time of year.

``We usually see nice, pristine weather,'' Barker said. ``This is usually our best time of the year.''
