COOKIES ARE COMING ENTERTAINER FOR KIDS TO ENLIVEN PLAYHOUSE.Byline: Daily News PALMDALE - Nels and the Peanut peanut, name for a low, annual leguminous plant (Arachis hypogaea) of the family Leguminosae (pulse family) and for its edible seeds. Native to South America and cultivated there for millenia, it is said to have been introduced to Africa by early explorers, Butter Cookies Band are back with a playful show about the holidays, ``Time for Christmas With Nels,'' to be performed at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 4 at the Palmdale Playhouse. Nels Lund has performed for audiences of 10 to 10,000 with a guitar named George, a show full of audience participation and an act suited for children ages 3 to 10. Nels began his career as a children's artist after the birth of his second daughter in 1982. He began performing songs he wrote for his family in local preschool classrooms and as his popularity increased, so did the size of his venues. Within two years, Nels released his first two children's recordings, ``Live Sandwiches'' and ``Live Chickens.'' Nels released his third recording, ``Friendship Train,'' in 1993 and his fourth, ``Time for Christmas,'' in 1994. Hot chocolate, milk and peanut butter cookies will be available at the Playhouse concession bar. A stuffed animal is toy animal stuffed with straw, beans, cotton or other similar materials. Some stuffed animals are very old – home made cloth dolls stuffed with straw go back to at least the to donate to Families Caring for Families. Tickets to ``Time for Christmas With Nels'' are $12 for general admission; $10 for senior citizens, military and students; and $8 for youths 12 and under.
