PAKLAVA (Shared by Madelyn Jendian Lewis, Panorama City) 2 pounds kadayif shredded dough (purchase ready made) 1 1/2 cups chopped walnuts 1 tablespoon ta·ble·spoon n. Abbr. T, tbsp. Spread 1/2 of kadayif in a 10x14-inch buttered pan. In a bowl, mix nuts, cinnamon and sugar. Spread nut mixture over kadayif. Put remaining kadayif over nuts. With a spoon, pour melted butter evenly over top. Bake in preheated 350-degree oven 1 hour. Reserve 1 cup Syrup. Pour remaining cool Syrup over hot Kadayif with a soup ladle. Cover kadayif and let moisten by its own steam 1/2 hour. When ready to serve, cut in squares and serve with reserved 1 cup Syrup and whipped cream or honey. SYRUP: In a saucepan, combine 4 cups sugar and 3 cups water. Boil together 10 minutes. Then add 1 teaspoon tea·spoon n.
