Gradually add sugar and continue beating just until mixture stands in firm peaks. Do not overbeat. Fold egg whites into lime mixture. Pour into crust and freeze 6 hours or overnight. Remove pie from freezer no more than 5 minutes before serving. Makes 8 servings. DAVE'S FROZEN KEY LIME PIE (Shared by Barbara Bliss) 8 ounces key lime juice 1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk 2 (8-ounce) tubs frozen whipped topping, thawed 2 baked 9-inch graham cracker pie crusts Beat together lime juice and sweetened condensed milk. Fold in 1 tub whipped topping. Divide filling evenly between the 2 crusts. Top pies with remaining frozen whipped topping, dividing evenly. Freeze or chill as desired. Makes 2 pies, 16 servings. |
