Bailey will manage the organization's day-to-day operational and sales activities with Mario Vitale, chief executive officer of Willis North America North America, third largest continent (1990 est. pop. 365,000,000), c.9,400,000 sq mi (24,346,000 sq km), the northern of the two continents of the Western Hemisphere. . He also will be developing and implementing the unit's long-term strategy.

"In North America, we need to continually evolve our intense client focus. Every aspect of this company needs to be developed with an aim towards delivering value in the eyes of our clients," Bailey said.

Bailey arrived at Willis in 2003 and led the company's North American executive risks practice until he was named chief executive officer of Willis Risk Solutions North America in 2004. Prior to joining Willis, Bailey Willis, Bailey (1857–1949) geologist; born in Idlewild-on-Hudson, N.Y. He served the U.S. Geological Survey (1884–1916), taking leaves to explore China (1902) and Argentina (1911–15).  worked for Allianz Insurance Co. in Chicago, where he was senior vice president and chief underwriting officer of specialty risk lines.
