DERRY footballer James Conway is set to appeal the massive 48-week ban handed down to him by the county's hearings committee on Tuesday night. Conway was dropped from the county panel last month following an incident in a club game for Ballinderry which left his county teammate James Kielt of Kilrea with a fractured jaw. He was originally proposed for an eight-week suspension but this wasn't imposed due to a lack of evidence, with the matter referred to the Ulster Council before being sent back to the Derry county board.
