CONVERGYS THOUGHT LEADERSHIP SPEAKER SERIES: There is no better time than now for companies to maximize the value of a strategic partnership with an outsource service provider. Now what?

CINCINNATI & SANTA CLARA, Calif. -- At the Technology Services World 2009 conference this week in Santa Clara, California, Convergys Corporation (NYSE: CVG), a global leader in relationship management, will share its insights on how strategic partnerships with an outsource service provider can help companies thrive during an economic recession. Conference attendees can visit Convergys at booth #21 during exhibit hours over the three-day conference (May 4-6) and attend a Convergys presentation on May 5 in the expo theatre.

Speaking on "How to Thrive During an Economic Recession: Effectively Leveraging Partner Relationships," Convergys' Mike Serpan and Channing Wankier will discuss how companies can get the most value from a strategic partner to boost their performance and results at greater efficiencies than the companies could attain themselves, especially during tough economic times. Serpan is vice president of program management for Convergys, where he is responsible for the company's technology industry vertical and for all technology client relationships in North America. Wankier is a senior director of program management for Convergys' technology vertical.

According to Serpan and Wankier, with revenue growth uncertain, all areas of an enterprise will be asked to cut costs and streamline operations in 2009 and the coming years. They suggest that companies should reinvest savings from streamlining and consolidation into critical, strategic business assets and partnerships to better manage operating costs, bolster performance, and increase revenue uptake. To know which areas to support internally and which to outsource to a strategic partner, companies must rethink their place in the market and look at their operation in a new way. Serpan and Wankier believe companies will find that they can extend the reach of strategic partners into areas formerly core to the business to push incremental investments where the return on investment will be fast and measurable. Four areas they discuss in their presentation are sales management, complex technical support, global customer service delivery, and new agent-assisted and self-care technologies to create the contact center of the future.

Convergys is also exhibiting at the conference. The company is showcasing its innovative and cost-effective customer management solutions. Conference attendees can visit Convergys at booth #21 during exhibit hours over the three-day conference (May 4-6).
