CONVERGENT MEDIA SYSTEMS AND BELL ATLANTIC SIGN MULTIMILLION DOLLAR CONTRACT.

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 14, 1995--Convergent Media Systems today announced a multi-year outsourcing agreement with Bell Atlantic Corporation of Philadelphia, Pa., to manage and support the Bell Atlantic Corporate Television facilities.

Atlanta-based Convergent will acquire all of the assets in Bell Atlantic's three broadcast and video production studios located in Newark, N.J., Philadelphia, Pa., and Silver Springs, Md. Convergent will provide broadcast production, video and multimedia capabilities to Bell Atlantic, as well as interactive multimedia, electronic publishing and broadcast programming services.

Convergent plans to consolidate Bell Atlantic's current studios into a Media Center located in Washington, DC -- Arlington, Va. area. This will become Convergent's second Media Center, the first being located outside of Boston, Mass.

Convergent's highly regarded outsourcing arrangement with Digital Equipment Corp. contributed to Bell Atlantic's selection of Convergent, according to Freemyer. Convergent's relationship with Digital began in 1986 by providing installation, operation and maintenance support of the 126-site Digital Video Network. The arrangement was expanded in 1991 to include video production, creative services and management of network receive sites, as well as Convergent's acquisition of Digital's uplink and studio facility.
