CONTRACT RATIFIED AT ALASKA AIRLINES

 SEATTLE, Nov. 24 ~PRNewswire~ -- Employees of Alaska Airlines have ratified a new contract between the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (IAM) and the carrier, Alaska Airlines announced today.
 The terms of the pact, which extends to Sept. 1, 1997, apply to the airline's mechanic and related personnel (MRP). The MRP unit at Alaska consists of approximately 1,600 airline inspectors, mechanics, ramp service agents, fleet service agents, cleaners and stock clerks.
 The five year agreement calls for wage increases for mechanics in the Lower 48 states of 4 percent immediately; an additional 4 percent on Sept. 1, 1993; and a 3-percent increase on Sept. 1, 1994. A 3-percent increase for all MRP bargaining unit personnel will occur on Sept. 1, 1996, during the fifth year of the contract.
 Lump sum bonus payments will be paid to Lower 48 ramp service, fleet service and stock clerk personnel who either are currently at or who will reach the top of their wage scales between now and Sept. 1, 1994.
 Other features of the contract are an enhanced medical plan that requires employee contributions and an increase in company pension contributions.
