 CONTINENTAL BANK PROMOTES TWO MANAGING DIRECTORS
 TO CO-HEAD REAL ESTATE GROUP
 CHICAGO, June 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Bank Corp. (NYSE: CBK) today announced that it has promoted two managing directors to co-head its real estate department. Allen S. Jackson Jr. and Reinhard J. Schneider replace John E. Neal, who will join Kemper Financial Services July 1 as executive vice president for real estate investments.
 "The ability of Allen and Reinhard to step right in and lead our real estate unit reflects the talent and depth of the group and Jack's success in building the unit into one of the best in the business," said Michael J. Murray, executive vice president and head of corporate banking. "Their complementary strengths in client relationships and portfolio analysis make them ideally suited to share management in this area."
 Jackson, 43, joined Continental in 1977 after graduating from Harvard Business School. He left the bank in 1984 for a management post at Talman Home Mortgage Corp., returning to Continental in 1987 to manage the bank's real estate lending units. Jackson received his bachelor's degree from Dartmouth College.
 Schneider, 48, came to Continental in 1976 after completing a master's degree at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is presently head of the bank's real-estate loan committee. Schneider left Continental for the American Medical Association in 1985, where he initially managed real estate investments and later was named chief financial officer. He returned to Continental in 1990. Schneider did undergraduate work at the University of Illinois.
 Neal, 42, joined Continental in 1974 following graduation from Harvard Business School. He also holds a bachelor's degree from Harvard University.
