CONTINENTAL AIRLINES APPLIES FOR NEW YORK STOCK EXCHANGE LISTING

HOUSTON, June 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Continental Airlines has applied to the New York Stock Exchange to have its new Class A and Class B shares traded on the Big Board. The airline's Original Listing Application pertains to new common stock being issued to Continental's creditors and investors pursuant to the Joint Plan of Reorganization which was confirmed April 28.
When approved for listing, trading symbols will be designated and the stocks will trade on a "when issued" basis until the company distributes stock certificates later this summer.
Continental Airlines Holdings, Inc.'s former shares, which were canceled and rendered worthless by the Joint Plan of Reorganization, were previously traded on the American Stock Exchange under the CTA symbol. Those shares were voluntarily delisted in March 1992 pending the resolution of the reorganization.
