NEWHALL -- Cats and dogs Cats and Dogs

The free fair also will include vendors that sell items for pets, information booths devoted to education.

Bow-Wows & Meows will take place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the park, 24151 N. San Fernando Road San Fernando Road is a major street in the city and county of Los Angeles. Last year's event drew thousands and resulted in the adoption of more than 100 dogs and cats from local shelters.

The Fun Dog Show will feature competitions in quirky categories such as Biggest/Smallest, Best Vocalist, Longest Tail/Largest Ears, Mystery Mutt, Most Spots, Most Physically Challenged physically challenged

The fair also will host a pet psychic The Pet Psychic is a television show on the Animal Planet network about a woman who claims to be able to know how people's pets and certain other animals are feeling. , a low-cost vaccine clinic, a photographer and a performance by a stunt dog team. There also will be a Kids Zone for family fun, food, raffles and giveaways.

All proceeds will go to Bow-Wows & Meows, a nonprofit organization Nonprofit Organization
