 CONTACTS CAN MEAN CONTRACTS
AT 11th ANNUAL MINORITY PROCUREMENT CONFERENCE
DETROIT, April 16 /PRNewswire/ -- Contacts can mean contracts for minority business owners who network with purchasing agents from major corporations and government agencies at the Michigan Department of Commerce's 11th Annual Minority Procurement Conference at the Lansing Center in Lansing, May 11 and 12, 1992.
This year's conference, themed "The Global Connection: Contacts Mean Contracts," will help minority business owners learn about doing business overseas and capitalize on the growing global economy. It will feature supplier and buyer workshops, a trade show, a roundtable discussion and an awards luncheon.
Emmit J. McHenry will be the keynote speaker for the awards luncheon on Tuesday, May 12, 1992. He is chairman, president and chief executive officer of Network Solutions, Inc., a networking and telecommunications service company and the largest minority supplier to AT&T. The luncheon honors outstanding minority business owners from across the state.
The conference is an ideal setting for one-on-one meetings between minority business owners who want to expand their business and buyers who are looking to increase their base of minority suppliers.
The conference will begin at 9 a.m. on Monday, May 11, and conclude at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, May 12. Some of the exhibitors at this year's trade show include Consumers Power, General Dynamics, Kmart, NASA, NBD Bank, Steelcase and Toyota.
Workshop topics will include the benefits of a culturally diverse supplier base, effective networking, strategies for expanding your business, total quality management and the growing franchise industry.
For more information or to register for the conference, call 313-245-1972 or 517-335-4720. The conference is sponsored by the Michigan Department of Commerce and NBD Bank.
