CONSUMERS POWER APPLIANCE REPAIR PLAN HAS NEW NAME
"We are alerting our customers through the news media and through a mailing that this program is now named HouseCall," said Brenda Ruffing, HouseCall program manager. "We know that some customers formerly enrolled in the previous program called the Heating Security Plan are confused by the name change and have not re-enrolled," said Ruffing. "We want to make sure that all of our customers who think they are covered, really are. Unless they call to enroll in the HouseCall program, they will not be covered," said Ruffing.
For a single low monthly payment, customers enrolled in the HouseCall program receive year-round, 24-hour protection against most costly natural gas furnace or hot water boiler and appliance repairs. There is no initial service charge and no added cost for labor or parts. Customers also have an option for a 14-point furnace tune-up and safety check. Customers seeking information on the HouseCall program can call, toll-free, 1-800-477-5050 and select option 5.
"Enrolling in HouseCall is a particularly good idea right now with the weather turning colder in Michigan," said Ruffing.
Consumers Power Company, the principal subsidiary of CMS Energy Corporation (NYSE: CMS), is Michigan's largest natural gas and electric utility serving more than six million of the state's nine and one-half million residents in all 68 Lower Peninsula counties.
