 ) Mr. John J. Ghaznavi, Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of Consumers Packaging Inc. (Consumers), announced to-day that, at a meeting of the Board of Directors of Consumers held on December 14, 1994, Mr. Charles E. Rhoades was appointed to the position of President and Chief Operating Officer Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Mr. Rhoades was previously Vice President, Manufacturing of Glenshaw Glass Company Inc. and Vice President, Operations of G&G Investments, Inc. (G&G), the Company which holds the controlling interest controlling interest

The ownership of a quantity of outstanding corporate stock sufficient to control the actions of the firm. Controlling interest often involves ownership of significantly less than 51% of a firm's outstanding stock because many owners fail
 in Consumers. Mr. Rhoades has had extensive experience within the glass container industry Glass containers are common parts of everyday life - we enjoy beverages such as water, soft drink, juice, beer, wine, spirit from bottles - jams and spreads from jars. The glass container's manufacture often involves a far greater level of complexity, automation and involvement  in the United States and was previously involved with Consumers when managing the technical support provided to Consumers under an agreement between Consumers and a major U.S. glass company. Recently, Mr. Rhoades has been actively involved in all aspects of operations at Consumers as part of the support agreement between Consumers and G&G.

Consumers is Canada's largest manufacturer of glass containers with seven plants across Canada and annual sales of approximately $500 million.
